Charlotte U. Keeley
Charlotte Keeley is an associate at Liu Shur Kravis LLP, where she focuses on white collar defense, regulatory enforcement matters, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation.
Charlotte has substantial experience representing corporations and individuals, with a particular emphasis on technology clients, in investigations and enforcement proceedings by the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the Securities and Exchange Commission, FinCEN, and other state and federal regulators. Her matters involve a wide range of federal and state criminal and regulatory statutes, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
Charlotte has handled all phases of government-facing investigations, including conducting and managing large-scale document reviews and productions, preparing witnesses for interviews with government authorities, and presenting findings to regulators in connection with ongoing investigations and inquiries. She has significant expertise in matters involving parallel criminal and civil exposure. She also regularly advises clients on strategic considerations related to proactive disclosures to government agencies.
In addition, Charlotte counsels companies on the design and enhancement of corporate compliance programs, particularly in the area of anti-money laundering, as well as on regulatory issues arising in connection with new product development and product launches. She also has experience conducting and managing internal investigations arising from whistleblower complaints, cybersecurity incidents, and potential compliance failures.
Charlotte maintains an active civil litigation practice, representing clients in complex business disputes in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration.
Prior to joining LSK, Charlotte was a litigation associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. She also previously served as an intern in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and as a law clerk in the Committee on the Judiciary of the U.S. Senate.
