Jessie K. Liu
Jessie represents companies, financial institutions, boards, and high-profile individuals in government and internal investigations and complex civil litigation. She regularly counsels clients on matters involving the intersection of national security and government enforcement and litigation, fraud, the False Claims Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She also evaluates organizational programs and practices and advises clients on changes to compliance policies and procedures.
From 2017 to 2020, Jessie was the Senate-confirmed U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, where she led the nation’s largest U.S. attorney’s office. Earlier, Jessie served as deputy general counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and advised the Treasury secretary and other officials on national security, law enforcement, and international issues, including economic and trade sanctions and anti-money laundering efforts. In addition, she has held senior positions at the Justice Department, including deputy assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division, counsel to the deputy attorney general on national security issues, and deputy chief of staff for the National Security Division, after beginning her government career as an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia. Prior to co-founding LSK, she was a litigation partner at an AmLaw 10 firm.
